Cisco Announces Updated Policy That Provides New Options for Professional Level Re-Certification

Effective 8/18/2006, individuals who hold an active CCNP, CCDP, CCIP, CCSP, or CCVP will re-certify their professional level certifications when they pass any Cisco professional level certification exam. Certification holders will continue to re-certify their professional level certifications when they pass any CCIE written exam.

The expanded professional level re-certification policy recognizes certification holders who have taken steps to diversify their networking knowledge and skills to keep pace with today’s evolving networking environment.

Professional Level Certifications Must be Re-Certified Every Three Years

Cisco requires that all professional level certifications be re-certified every three years. This policy helps to maintain the integrity of Cisco certifications by verifying that those who hold active Cisco certifications possess up to date expertise

CCNP Certification Curriculum

Four recommended training courses and four required exams comprise the new CCNP certification curriculum. A valid CCNA® certification is a prerequisite for taking the CCNP exams.

Keep Your Certification Active

Well in advance of your certification expiration date; make plans to re-certify your CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CCVP, or CCIP. To re-certify, certification holders must take and pass one of the professional level exams or a CCIE written exam before the expiration date.

Cisco will send a reminder six months prior to the date your certification expires, and again one month before expiration. To ensure that the reminder reaches you, please be sure that your email contact information is up to date.

Use your Cisco ID (i.e. CSCO0000001) to access the Certification Tracking System to check your certification status, find out when your certifications expire, and to update your email contact information. You can find your Cisco certification ID on your Cisco Certification card, your Cisco certificate, or exam score report. If you do not know your Cisco ID, please open a case using Certifications Online Support.


In parole povere ogni qualvolta che passerete un esame che serve per una certificazione professional tipo CCNP, CCDP, CCIP, CCSP, or CCVP vi verranno ricertificate anche le altre in vostro possesso.
Praticamente per ricertificarsi un CCNP può dare l'esame di BGP che fa parte della certificazione CCIP.

Voi che ne pensate? Io credo che ci sia da vedere l'altro lato della medaglia, secondo me gli esami diventeranno un pochetto + difficili, voi che dite? D'altro canto però si spenderanno meno denari per ricertificarsi

Gli argomenti saranno più completi senza dubbio, il problema è che le persone daranno l'esame più facile fra quelli disponibili...ma, del resto, si deve mantenere una certificazione Cisco!

Anche se personalmente mi ispira l'idea di rinnovarla con il CCIE written.
