Interfaccia sospetta...

Carissimi,
smanettando con un Cisco 1721 ho notato la comparsa di una interfaccia Ethernet 0 sospetta (almeno a me). Avendo acquistato su ebay la WIC-4ESW da affiancare alla WIC 1 ADSL ho provato a bootstrappare con uno IOS tirato giù dal web (di quelli che girano "free")
ossia c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.124-1a.bin.
Alla fine del boot però ho notato la comparsa di una interfaccia Ethernet oltre le 5 fastEthernet che mi aspettavo.
Chiaramente se faccio uno show diag tale interfaccia non è presente, ma se provo a configurarla ottengo il messaggio:
c1721(config)#int ethernet 0
Ethernet0 is an internal interface and cannot be configured
Secondo voi cos'è questa interfacia interna non configurabile?
Potrebbe essere una backdoor insita nello IOS un po' pirata?
Vi allego lo show version con in grassetto l'interfaccia strana e lo show ip int bri per quelle veramente presenti e configurabili :
