Salve a tutti, e buon inizio anno....

Ecco il mio primo post, dopo vari mesi di intense letture!
E' possibile collegare un normalissimo modem analogico seriale alla porta console del router e poi gestire eventuali connessioni come fosse la porta adsl?
Spero di non prendere subito la prima bastonata...
Però mi sarebbe davvero utile, premetto che il mio router funziona da quasi tre anni perfettamente, ma ho avuto saltuariamente situazioni in cui mi avrebbe fatto comodo una ruota di scorta pronta all'uso.

Purtroppo cercando e ricercando ho scoperto che la funzionalità che cercavo è presente nella serie 830, in particolare nell 837 la porta con è anche aux e può gestire un modem in/out, la porta con del 827 non ha caratteristiche aux!

Si ma...gestisce un modem solamente per connessioni verso l'interno, quindi per entrare in console tramite una linea telefonica.Non funziona assolutamente come linea di backup, a quanto mi è parso di capire la tua ricerca era in quel senso...

Da quello che ho capito leggendo al link riportato, anche il cisco 837 supporta il dial out, quindi è possibile utilizzare la porta console per collegare un modem ed ottenere così una linea di backup!
Riporto la sequenza di comandi per la configurazione indicata:

Command Purpose
Step 1 ip name-server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Enters your ISP DNS IP address.

Configures CPE as a local DHCP server.

Step 3 vpdn enable
Enables VPDN.

Step 4 vpdn-group 1
Specifies VPDN group for protocol PPPoE.

Step 5 chat-script Dialout ABORT ERROR ABORT BUSY "" "AT" OK "ATDT XXXXXXXX T" TIMEOUT 45 CONNECT \c
Configures a chat script for a modem.

Step 6 interface Async1
Enters configuration mode for the async interface.

Step 7 interface Dialer3
Enters configuration mode for the dialer interface.

Step 8 dialer watch-group 1
Specifies the group number for watch-list.

Step 9 ip nat inside source list 101 interface Dialer3 overload
Establishes the Ethernet interface as the inside interface.

Step 10 ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ! (dial backup peer address @ISP)
Sets the IP route to point to the dialer interface as a default gateway.

Step 11 access-list 101 permit ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.255.255 any
Defines an extended access list permitting addresses that need translation.

Step 12 dialer watch-list 1 ip ! (ATM peer address @ISP) 255.255.255.255
Evaluates the status of the primary link, based on the existence of routes to the peer.

Step 13 line con 0
Enters configuration mode for the console interface.

Step 14 modem enable
Changes the console port to auxiliary port function.

Step 15 line aux 0
Enters configuration mode for the auxiliary interface.

Step 16 flow control hardware
Enables hardware signal flow control.

Viene riportato anche un esempio completo di configurazione.
Purtroppo il mio cisco 827-4v non supporta il settagio della porta con in porta aux!
