in se per se potresti abilitare delle protezioni implementando delle access-list sul router

Come già accennato da savstra, in ogni router cisco si può implementare un firewall OSI-layer3/4.
Su un 837 è molto probabile che si possa implementare anche un application-layer firewall. Se ci posti il nome dell'immagine di IOS, possiamo darti le possibilità.

Per quanto riguarda il firewalling, hai tutto quello che ti serve per difendere la tua rete.
Cominciamo dal firewalling di basso layer. Se hai qualche nozione di reti, puoi dare un'occhiata nell'ITBlog.
Se invece non avessi il minimo lume sulle reti, dicci cosa vorresti realizzare e che servizi dovrai usare all'interno della rete.
Del firewalling di layer alto (sebbene più semplice da configurare), ne riparliamo in seguito.
